Hello! How have you all been? I hope you are all staying safe with the recent storm and flooding issues. I wanted to write this email to give you all an update on what I have been up to.

As of now, I have been attending college for about eight weeks. Craven Community College has a beautiful campus and an exceptional staff that makes me look forward to class. My classes with Craven are Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Chemistry, and Anatomy and Physiology 1. This semester I am also taking Introduction to Theatre online with East Carolina University. My coursework has been large lately but I am learning so much that I will use frequently as a nurse. For example, Anatomy has taught me about medical terminology, tissues, organs, the skeleton and much more which is information I will hold with me throughout my nursing career.

I have stayed pretty busy between school, work, and the student ambassador program. Over the summer, I was accepted into the Craven Community College ambassador program. As a student ambassador, I volunteer for and represent the college. We participate in many of the student life and community events such as the welcome back fair, the bridge run, and the local Christmas parades. Being a student ambassador has made my transition from high school to college much easier.

Again, I wanted to thank you all for the great impact you have had on my life. The scholarship I received from The Coastal Women’s Forum relieved a huge stress that my family and I had when dealing with how to pay for college. All of you have helped me to focus more on my studies then how I would pay for my education. I am greatly appreciative, thank you all so much.
